This is Bob with Luke and Jackson working on the tractor mower over in Lane County. They visited us while Jennifer and Aubrey went to the Miss Oklahoma Pageant. Luke thought it would have been awful if they (he and Jackson) had had to go to the pageant.
Jennifer, Aubrey and Jackson visited us while Luke was at Camp Lakeside near Scott City. We
were really glad to have them. While they were here we took off wallpaper and painted part of the walls in our kitchen. They did not have to work the whole time though.

When Father's Day and my birthday are on the same day, I like to do something special. This year we went to Grand Junction, Colorado to see Uncle Wes, Dorie& Gary&Cheryl, Julie and Rita. We also got to see Jason, meet his wife Megan and their son Aidan. We had a good visit.
I have more pictures to show but it may be awhile as long as it took me to get these on.

Bob is cutting wheat today - here and there. Part of a field may be ready but not all of it; so then he goes to a different field . Not the most efficient way to cut wheat, but when some is ready you had better get started because you never know what the weather will do.

What's Happening Back on the Farm

We're somewhat anxiously waiting for the wheat to ripen so we can begin harvesting. It's been quite a few years since harvest has been this late. The wheat looks like a pretty decent crop considering that I destroyed some and some didn't come up until March. Of course, we sure would like to share in the abundant rainfall you easterners have been getting. Over on the ranch things are better but dry as well. We had barley over there and do have that harvested and it was a good crop. I broke my right hand 4 weeks ago and have been wearing a cast for 3 with one more to go. It was rubbing a big blister on the point of the good bone and finally today I convinced Ann to use a dremel tool to cut a hole in the cast-what relief. Next week I get to go to a dermitologist to have a squamous cell carinoma removed from my ear-see hats are important. Ann had a colonoscopy last week aas well as an EDG --those really wore her out but from all reports are normal.
We have been blessed having Jackson, Aubrey and Jennifer here this week while Luke is at Camp Lakeside. It's awalys fun to have them. Of course Jennifer set this blog up and is trying to train us. They're also enjoying Ann's 4 kittens and country quiet and peacefulness. Bob
